Benjamin Franklin commonplace-book, 1718-1720.

Commonplace-book kept in Boston by Benjamin Franklin, the uncle of Dr. Benjamin Franklin, with diary entries for 1718 - 25 April 1720. The brief, scattered entries note current events in Spain, Ireland, Scotland, and other international locales. Additional entries note the deaths of family members. The remainder of the book includes original poetry and epitaphs written by Franklin, or sent to him by friends and family; a list of street names in Boston; instructions for making dyes of various colors, and dyeing various objects, as well as instructions for removing spots from different fabrics.
